Glory B’s debut album, Puppies Of Steel, bears frank testament to his utterly original genre within genres, quantifying funk into unheard categories with its fearless depravity and disregard for boundaries. Thus we had ‘Martin Cash’ a beat-boxing murder ballad about a notorious Tasmanian bushranger set to a fuzz toned groove Bjork would shudder from, alongside ‘Fall of the Mighty’, a free-falling caution to unmindful excess set to a loping gutter-rut and some of Bryson’s most ecstatic and extraordinary vocal eruptions. The exultant, eerie triumphs of 'Like A Butterfly' and 'Tripwire' encompass instrumental palettes found on no known funk record of this dimension.

Masterminded by NSW’s most sought-after producer, Christian Pyle, this voluptuous record gyrates with determined abandon, double basses wheezing alongside big sleazy keyboard sounds unheard since Blaxploitation heaved its last. Tangled guitar, violin and maximum-soul vocals entwine like star-crossed tantric legs and the songs gasp and writhe with exquisite animation, courtesy of an elite cadre of the Australia's finest musicians.
